A Colorado Springs teenager may be in danger. Police said 17-year-old Lynnea Cross ran away with a convicted felon, who's still wanted. 29-year-old Joe Baker has an extradictable warrant out of Texas for possession of drugs.
Lynnea has been missing for four months, but it's who she's with that has police really concerned now. "We don't know where our daughter is," Bob Cross told 11 News. He hasn't seen his daughter since April 21st when she ran out the front door, late for work.
"She left with my backpack, some clothes and that's it. She didn't take much at all," said Cross. He said it wasn’t like her to leave, but when he went to Manitou Springs where Lynnea usually hung out, he discovered she ran away with her boyfriend.
“It took 6 weeks and 6 days to get a positive i.d. on Joe." In a photo, Joe Baker is seen with Lynnea.
"We found out that she wanted to go to Costa Rica and that was alarming." Police believe they’re still in El Paso County.
Police said they're worried Baker and Lynnea are doing drugs. They were reportedly last seen in Manitou Springs the 2nd week of July. Police want to find Baker. Cross just wants to find his daughter.
"There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about her."
Cross said even if his daughter doesn't come home, he just wants to hear from her, so he knows she's okay. If you know where they are, you can anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
