http://www.arkansasbusiness.com/article.aspx?aID=102827.82923.114969 CNN Show Publicizes Glasgow Search2/5/2008 CNN’s “Nancy Grace” talk show on Monday evening broadcast a photo and other information about missing Little Rock businessman John Glasgow and was planning a segment on the continuing search on Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, Glasgow’s brother Roger said volunteers from Texas Equusearch have arrived at Petit Jean State Park, which Glasgow’s Volvo SUV was found a week ago. On Monday, the Conway County Sheriff’s Office began reviewing surveillance video from a Morrilton tobacco store, where a man matching John Glasgow’s description bought cigarettes early last week. But Roger Glasgow said the family had not heard any results of that review, and neither Sheriff Mike Smith nor investigator Sonny Stover could be reached for comment Tuesday morning. Communications Development Inc., a Maumelle advertising agency that works exclusively with transportation clients, was using its contacts in the trucking industry to spread flyers bearing Glasgow's photo around the country. Communications Development is also hosting a Web site, www.findjohnglasgow.com, according to founder Trish Groves, a longtime friend of Melinda and John Glasgow. Glasgow, 45, has been chief financial officer for CDI Contractors of Little Rock for 12 years. He was last seen leaving home about 5:15 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 28. More than 60 messages and tributes to John Glasgow and his family have been posted elsewhere on ArkansasBusiness.com.

http://www.arkansasbusiness.com/article.aspx?aID=102598Family Works to Spread Word About Missing CFO John Glasgow2/3/2008 While volunteer search and rescue teams from Madison and Yell counties continue to search Petit Jean State Park, the family of missing Little Rock executive John Glasgow planned to buy an advertisement to get his photo in the state's largest-circulation newspaper. Glasgow's brother, Little Rock lawyer Roger Glasgow, told ArkansasBusiness.com on Sunday morning that no more volunteer searchers were needed at Petit Jean, where John Glasgow's car was found on Tuesday. He had been reported missing on Monday. Coworkers from CDI Contractors of Little Rock, where Glasgow, 45, has been chief financial officer for 12 years, were "embedded" with the trained search teams, Roger Glasgow said. And KATV, Channel 7, where John Glasgow's wife Melinda Glasgow formerly worked, had offered the use of its helicopter. Some 500 handbills bearing Glasgow's picture and other information were circulated around north-central Arkansas on Saturday, Roger Glasgow said, and more were being printed. Many were circulating the flyers via e-mail.

John W. Glasgow, 45, vice president and chief financial officer of CDI Contractors of Little Rock, was reported missing Jan. 28 by his wife, Melinda, after his co-workers contacted her to find out why he didn’t show up for work. “He left his house around 5:15 last Monday morning, and it was probably 2:30 in the afternoon when people at work called his wife to find out why he hadn’t shown up for work. She thought he’d left home early to go to work, so that was really the first that anyone realized that there was something amiss,” said Gary Glasgow. John Glasgow’s car was found the following day in the Mather Lodge parking lot on Petit Jean Mountain south of Morrilton. “There are some unusual things about it,”... http://www.arkansasbusiness.com/article.aspx?aID=102562UPDATED: Search for John Glasgow Continues at Petit Jean Park2/1/2008 The search for Little Rock businessman John Glasgow continued Friday morning in Petit Jean State Park, where Glasgow's car was located on Tuesday, the day after he was reported missing from his Little Rock home. "They are breaking up into three-person teams, doing a tight grid-type search, including around Tanyard Springs and the cliff faces there on the south side of Petit Jean," Glasgow's brother, Little Rock lawyer Roger Glasgow, told ArkansasBusiness.com Friday. An Arkansas State Police helicopter was resuming its search, and the State Police's "best dog" was being brought in on Friday, Roger Glasgow said. Search dogs picked up a scent on the Cedar Creek trail between Cedar Falls and the Blue Hole area of the state park on Thursday but eventually lost it, he said. A .22 rifle that at first was thought to be missing was later found in Glasgow's home on South Lookout Street, his brother said.

http://www.thecabin.net/stories/021208/loc_0212020001.shtmlMissing business exec is UCA alum Relatives of a missing construction executive from Little Rock are asking Faulkner County residents for help in finding the man they've been searching for since Jan. 28. For all family members know, John Glasgow could be in the Conway area, since during a search for him last week his cell phone pinged off a tower near Petit Jean Mountain, where his car was later found with its door unlocked and valuables inside. Glasgow, 45, earned a business degree from University of Central Arkansas in 1985, and is the chief financial officer of CDI Construction Company. According to his sister, Miriam Delay-Friant of Oakland, Calif., "He's an incredibly responsible person. It's so out of character for him to just completely disappear." Delay-Friant, 59, has traveled to Arkansas to help family in an ongoing search for Glasgow, whose car was seen leaving his home by a neighbor at 5:15 a.m., on the morning of Jan. 28. Glasgow didn't report for work that day, his staff became concerned and colleagues reported his absence to his wife Melinda Glasgow, who according to Delay-Friant and Glasgow's other sister, Donna Jean Glasgow, immediately filed a missing persons report. Glasgow's cell phone pinged once off a cell phone tower in Morrilton on the morning of Jan. 28, and once off the Winrock International tower on Petit Jean Mountain on Tuesday morning. Glasgow's phone and computer were later found in his car on the mountain, though Glasgow wasn't. Donna Jean Glasgow, 65, of Little Rock, who recently moved to Springdale from Conway where for five years she taught piano at the UCA Community School of Music, said the Arkansas Department of Parks and Recreation, Arkansas State Police and Conway County law enforcement agencies conducted an official search for three days, and since then Melinda Glasgow and about 50 volunteers from CDI began to conduct their own search. Workers from The Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team, a volunteer horse-mounted search foundation for lost and missing persons, have volunteered their services in finding Glasgow since last week. Donna Jean Glasgow says EquuSearch workers are nearly certain her brother isn't on the mountain. "That mountain has been searched so thoroughly, they say they're 99.99-percent confident that he is not up there," said Donna Jean, who commended CDI staff, her sister-in-law Melinda Glasgow and brother Roger Glasgow for directing the ceaseless search. "Since that Saturday, volunteers led by Melinda have coordinated and directed this search and they've been at it non-stop. (Melinda) had the KATV news helicopter out there because she used to work for them. She's had the news and search crews on standby in case anything comes up. "We haven't let up in this." Search and rescue teams from Madison and Marion counties have also volunteered in the search, as the family has now launched a nation-wide search campaign. The Glasgow family asks that readers of the Log Cabin Democrat visit www.findjohnglasgow.com for information about John Glasgow, and to print and distribute fliers about the search. Glasgow attended UCA from 1980 to 1985 and after graduation was hired as an accountant in Little Rock. In 1990 he was hired at CDI Construction, where he became a controller and was eventually named CFO and company vice president. William Clark, the company's CEO, says Glasgow has been "a trusted member" of the company for 17 years. While at UCA, Glasgow was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Downtown Little Rock Partnership, and is on the Salvation Army Advisory Board Executive Committee. At the time of his disappearance, Glasgow was thought to be wearing khaki pants and a khaki coat or a green ski-style down jacket. He is six-feet-tall; weighs 180 pounds; has sandy brown straight hair; and gray and green eyes. Authorities say they don't know whether John Glasgow is still alive, or who would've abducted him. Donna Jean Glasgow said last week, "We don't know that a crime has been done, but a criminal investigation is taking place. And we hope to see this process through to completion." Family members are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Glasgow's return. Persons with information should contact Sonny Stover of Conway County Sheriff's Office at 501-354-2411, or their nearest local or state authorities.

His car was found at Petit Jean Mountain the next day with his computer and cellphone inside. During a press conference, family spokesman Chip Welch, told reporters, "this is a tough time for John's loved ones." He went on to say the family doesn't think Glasgow was ever on Petit Jean. According to Welch, the family believes Glasgow was a victim of a crime such as kidnapping or abduction and think he's alive. Glasgow is the CFO of CDI Contractors in Little Rock. The family has also set up a website, www.findjohnglasgow.com. If you have any information, call the Conway County Sheriff's Department or Arkansas State Police.

Glasgow was CFO for CDI contractors in Little Rock. CDI is known for building the Clinton library and the new Heifer Int’l Headquarters. He was last seen leaving his home in the early morning hours of Monday January 28th. He did not show up for work. Glasgow’s car was found the next day on Petit Jean Mountain. In a statement issued to the media, Glasgow’s family says “The evidence points away from the mountain. We believe John may not have gone there. We think John may possibly have been the victim of a crime such as an abduction or kidnapping and is still alive.” The Conway County Sheriff’s office says dogs did pick up a scent on a trail in Petit Jean Mountain. They do not believe foul play is involved. Petit Jean Mountain is located in Conway County. Little Rock police say they are treating this as a missing person’s case. Glasgow’s family is offering a $50,000 reward for his safe return. Another missing person’s organization is offering a $20,000 reward.

http://www.arktimes.com/blogs/arkansasblog/2008/02/glasgow_case_new_details.aspxGlasgow case: New detailsWith the family of missing CDI Contractors chief financial officer John Glasgow looking on, Little Rock attorney Chip Welch addressed the media at Allsopp Park today, saying that the family now believes that "evidence points away from the mountain." He referred to Petit Jean, where Glasgow's car was found Jan. 29 and which has been searched extensively without turning up a trace of him. Among the news from the event: The reward for Glasgow has been increased to $70,000. Glasgow's Volvo has been forensically examined, and found to contain what Welch categorized as "no fingerprints," indicating that it may have been wiped down before being parked on Petit Jean. Trained search dogs found no trace of Glasgow's scent leading away from his parked car, or anywhere else on the mountain. In addition to Glasgow's cell phone and laptop computer, his bank card was found in the car. His wallet and car keys have not been found. A park ranger at Mather Lodge on Petit Jean told police that Glasgow's car appeared in the parking lot there between noon and 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. He'd last been seen leaving his home before 6 a.m. the day before, Monday, Jan. 28. Welch said that while Glasgow had left a bank account number and the combination to a safe on a notepad at his home -- which some have taken as a suggestion that Glasgow was preparing to end it all -- he added that the numbers were found written several sheets from the top sheet of a pad of paper, and there is no way of knowing when they were written. He reiterated, in response to a question, that there was no indication of any financial irregularities at CDI, one of the state's largest construction companies, a venture owned in equal parts by the Dillard Department Store family and the family of the late William Clark. A deal reportedly was nearing completion for purchase of Clark's share of the company by his son and investors including Glasgow. -- David Koon

http://www.arkansasbusiness.com/article.aspx?aID=103244.16852.115386Democrat-Gazette on Glasgow Coverage: Some Missing Cases Are Newsworthy, Others NotOuttakes was able to get very little out of Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Deputy Editor Frank Fellone concerning the Democrat-Gazette's attitude toward the disappearance of Little Rock businessman John Glasgow on Jan. 28. The D-G followed other news organizations in reporting Glasgow's disappearance by several days, and neither the first story, on Feb. 4, nor a brief item about a reward offered for information in his case on Feb. 14 included a photo of the missing man. The only photo of Glasgow that has appeared in the statewide daily was in a paid advertisement placed by his frantic family. "Experience tells us that many people of all kinds and all ages turn up missing over the course of a year," Fellone said. "Some are newsworthy and some are not." Fellone then did not comment on how the paper decides its news coverage. "To explain why you don't do a news story is to invite madness," he said. He also had no reaction as to why the Glasgow family had to take out an advertisement in order to get Glasgow's picture in the paper. "Here in the newsroom, there should be no reaction to what an advertiser does," Fellone said.

http://www.arkansasbusiness.com/article.aspx?aID=103258.52562.115400 Tourist Photo Aids in John Glasgow Search2/22/2008 Little Rock executive John Glasgow's Volvo SUV was parked at Mather Lodge at Petit Jean State Park sometime before 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28, the day he disappeared, photos taken by a lodge guest show. (See the full photo at the end of this story.) Two photographs taken by a Tennessee tourist refute earlier published reports that the vehicle wasn't in the parking lot until midday on Jan. 29, shortly before it was discovered. Roger Glasgow, John Glasgow's older brother, said the family had contacted guests registered at the lodge on Jan. 28 and 29 in hopes of finding someone who had seen John or had photographs of the parking lot. One guest from Tennessee, whose name Roger didn't know, provided two date-stamped digital photos of the parking lot taken about 4:30 on that Monday afternoon, and the Volvo was in the same parking spot outside the lodge where it was discovered the next day. Roger Glasgow provided a printed copy of one photo to ArkansasBusiness.com, but the copy did not include the date stamp. Glasgow, 45, was chief financial officer of CDI Contractors in Little Rock. He was reported missing on the afternoon on Jan. 28 when he failed to show up for work. A neighbor saw his car leave his home on South Lookout Street at 5:15 that morning. The Petit Jean Headlight newspaper, citing unnamed rangers, reported that Glasgow's car was not seen in the parking lot until midday on Tuesday, Jan. 29. Roger Glasgow also told ArkansasBusiness.com that John's wife, Melinda, had resigned her position as an event planner for Heifer International. She had not returned to work since her husband's disappearance, he said. This photo, taken by a tourist, shows John Glasgow's SUV, parked in front of the lodge, second from the left, on Monday afternoon, Jan. 28, the day he disappeared.

http://arkansasmatters.com/content/fulltext/?cid=66049New Information in Glasgow CaseReported by: Cecillea Pond-Mayo, KARK 4 News Monday, Feb 25, 2008 @05:31pm CST A new picture and a new witness are providing more information about the disappearance of John Glasgow. Glasgow was chief financial officer for CDI contractors. His family last saw him in the very early morning hours of January 28th. His car was found the next day on Petit Jean Mountain. But now a photo from a Tennessee family shows Glasgow’s car there at 4pm on the 28th. Previous information had lead the family to believe the car didn’t appear until the next afternoon. Investigators are also interviewing an employee from Waffle House in Russellville. Roger Glasgow, John’s brother, says that person claims to have served Glasgow eggs over-easy and hash browns. That witness is not clear on the date, but tells investigators it was after January 28th. “I do believe he’s alive somewhere. I don’t believe he’s on Petit Jean Mountain. I don’t believe he walked away. Was foul play involved? I can’t say,” said Roger Glasgow. The family says another team of dogs searched the mountain last weekend and found no scent trail. The family is offering a $50,000 reward. Another non-profit group is offering another $20,000 for information leading to his safe return.
