The Miles for the Missing Family Walk & Bike Ride has been rescheduled for September 23, 2007.

Welcome to the fourth annual
Miles for the Missing Family
Bike Ride and Walk.

This casual ride/walk, which is for all ages, will be held on the scenic Wabash Trace Nature Trail which begins in Council Bluffs,IA.

The ride/walk is scheduled for Sunday, September 23. Trail coverage with first aid and water will be offered until 3:00 PM.

The Miles for the Missing Family Walk & Bike Ride is one of Project Jason's annual fundraisers. It's a chance to do something fun and healthy together with your family.

Your entry fee will help us to continue in our mission to potentially reunite the families of the missing who have been torn apart by this tragic circumstance.

It will also be used to bring about public awareness for the missing and provide educational opportunities in our community.

The ride area will be extended again this year, to include up to Malvern, IA, which is a 44 mile round trip ride if you chose to travel the entire route. As it is a casual ride/walk, you may go any distance you wish, whether it is one mile or 44. There are several rest stops and benches along the trail. SAG and free water will be provided.

Families of missing loved ones will be located at the various stops to share their stories and information about safety, prevention, and what you can do to help.

Project Jason Board Members and volunteers will also staff the route and assist with check in at the trailhead.

Personal ID Kits and other free materials will be available as you leave.

Heartland React will be available to provide first aid along the entire designated route for the safety of all riders/walkers.

The ride cost is $17.00 per person. Pre-registration is encouraged and preferred.

Riders/walkers who pre-register by September 17, 2007 will receive a free Miles for the Missing IV T-shirt at check-in.

Riders/walkers of all ages must have a completed and signed registration form before entering the trail.

Children under age 10 riding/walking with a parent or guardian may ride free, but will still need a waiver form signed by their parent or guardian.

T-shirts for children under age ten (optional) may be purchased for $7.50 each at the time of registration.

To reach the trailhead from Omaha, go east on I-80, take I-29 south to Highway 92. Follow Highway 92 east to Highway 275. Turn south. The Iowa West Foundation Trailhead Park is on the west side of the road just south of Lewis Central School.
